“Mijn grootse probleem met de film is dat hij geen echte identiteit heeft, hij weet niet wat hij wil zijn. Het is geen throwback naar de eerste Alien, het is geen horror, geen thriller, geen existentionele film… het is van alles wat.”

I don’t agree with every part of the review, but generally, I like his point of view.

For me, the movie worked as an experience and a vision. the first 10 minutes where beautiful and intriguing. And as long as you follow the movie and forget to think about the why and how, the movie works until the ugly designed tentacle alien appears.

It’s only when the movie ends end you try to explain what the movie is about to a friend, that you get the feeling that somehow, something has gone terribly wrong with this movie.

Fotograaf Michiel Hendryckx stapte eind april 2012 in Schiphol op een vliegtuig richting Osaka. Vandaar ging het naar een bungalow in Wakayama. Michiel Hendryckx koos bewust voor een gewone Japanse stad. Hij verbleef er vijf weken en bundelde zijn impressies in een prachtig e-boek.
